the program
Once we arrive in Luxor, the first thing we do is visit the Karnak Temple complex. The remains of the temple that are still visible today date back to the 12th Dynasty under Sesostris. The purpose of the temple complex was for the priesthood to hold their daily temple services there. Temples were also built for the wife of Amun, the goddess Mut, and their son Khonsu. Together they form the Triad of Thebes. Sacred cultural ceremonies, prayers, sacrifices, and chants were held in the temple. After visiting the Karnak Temple complex, we go to a restaurant for lunch. After our lunch break, we drive you to your hotel where you can relax. In the afternoon, we continue our tour and drive to the Luxor Temple.
Luxor Temple was built during the New Kingdom under Amenhotep III. Luxor Temple essentially served two functions. The Opet festival was celebrated once a year on the Egyptian New Year. Statues of the gods Amun, Mut, and Khonsu were brought to Karnak Temple in portable boats. The second function was the negation of the king with his goddess Ka. Before we return you to your hotel, you have the opportunity to watch the sound and light show at Karnak Temple in the early evening. You will enjoy dinner in a relaxing atmosphere at your hotel and let the day come to a close.
Program schedule day 2.
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up again and drive you to the famous Colossi of Memnon. The Colossi of Memnon are two colossal ancient Egyptian statues dating back to the 14th century BC. The quartzite statues depict King Amenhotep III. They were erected in 1379 BC. Our journey then continues to the Valley of the Kings. The Valley of the Kings is one of the main tourist attractions in Egypt. Here you will have the opportunity to visit three tombs. Our next stop will be the Terrace Temple of Hatshepsut. The Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut dates back to the 18th Dynasty and is the best-preserved temple on the west bank of the Nile in Thebes. The entire temple was built of limestone. After visiting the temple, we board a boat and cross the Nile to return to East Luxor, where we enjoy lunch. After lunch, we return to Hurghada, where your guide will see you off at your hotel. The Sun&Fun team has many years of experience organizing tours to historical sites in Egypt, so we reserve the right to change the order of the visits so we can show you all the buildings without the stress and crowds.

A wonderful experience, from Ashraf, the driver, to Mohammed, the guide, they made my experience the best it could be. The temples are wonderful, and Mohammed explains everything very well and is very friendly. He taught me how to avoid the harassing salespeople. Truly 100% recommended! I would do it again.

I took the private 2-day tour with transfer from Hurghada to Luxor and overnight stay. The trip, the car, and the driver (Abdul) were all great. A beautiful, air-conditioned vehicle; Abdul spoke excellent German and was very friendly. In Luxor, we were met by my two-day tour guide, the wonderful, funny, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable Mohamed! He not only showed me the standard areas of all the major sights (Day 1 – Karnak Temple, Nile cruise, Luxor Temple, horse-drawn buggy tour of Luxor city), but also shared his own unique insights, as well as areas off the beaten track that were of interest/significance to him. On the second day, Mohamed and Abdul led me to the Valley of the Kings and showed me the best and most interesting spots...

I highly recommend this two-day tour to Luxor. You see everything as promised in the description. Our driver, Adel, made the trip very smooth and comfortable. He drove us the entire way and was very friendly and helpful. Our guide, Karam, was very knowledgeable about ancient Egypt and thought through the entire tour. He is passionate about Egyptian history and answered all of our questions. Joining this Egypt tour made our trip even better. Overall, a wonderful time. Thanks again, Adel & Karam!

Very exciting temples and culture, including the evening Sound and Light Tour and a Nile cruise. We particularly enjoyed the Karnak Temple and the Valley of the Kings, as well as the Temple of Hapsetus and Luxor. By splitting the trip into two days, we were able to use the hot weather to relax.
